The domestic RHI pays owners of renewable heating systems. Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive tariffs are currently set at the levels below. The following tariffs will apply at least until 30th June 2019.
Technology | Tariff |
---|---|
Biomass Boilers | 6.88 p/kWh |
Solar Thermal | 21.09 p/kWh |
Air Source Heat Pumps | 10.71 p/kWh |
Ground Source Heat Pumps | 20.89 p/kWh |
The support under the domestic RHI is set at a level designed to compensate for the difference between the cost of installing and operating renewable heating systems and fossil fuel eg. gas fired systems, including non-financial costs such as disruption, on the basis of 20 years of heat produced. The fossil fuel costs used for this purpose are those faced by households off the gas grid.
